CHARGING ALTERNATOR

The charging alternator is simply a three phase ac synchronous generator with solid state,

self-contained, rectifiers and regulators. The charging alternator is driven by the diesel engine

via a belt and generators alternating current power.

The ac power is rectified to a Direct Current power. The output of the charging alternator is connected to the starting batteries.

 

Elegen is able to offer a wide range of charging alternators for all makes of engines.

Common sizes for 12-volt systems are 12, 15, 25, 38, 50, or 60 amps while 24-volt alternator 

ratings are typically 60 or 95 amps.
